Our Story
The Mortgage Spot is new, but the team, the values, and the member-first mission behind it are not.
1939 — Where it starts.
Communication Federal Credit Union, originally Pioneer Bell Credit Union, was founded by employees of Southwestern Bell Telephone in downtown Oklahoma City as a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative.
1982 — A new name for the credit union.
The credit union grew to serve many outstanding business partners including OG&E, ONEOK, ONE Gas, AEP/PSO, Chaparral Energy, AT&T, Goodyear Tire and more than 250 other groups. The name was changed to Communication Federal Credit Union in 1982 to reflect this growing field of membership.
Decades of helping members.
Communication Federal Credit Union grew into a full-service credit union with over 300 employees and 22 branches, serving more than 130,000 members. The credit union helped families save, spend, and borrow through every market the decades could throw at them.
2026 — A new name for home loans.
Communication Federal Credit Union’s home loan team gets a new name and a standalone office. Mortgage Spot is our dedicated space to help homebuyers. It’s the same great team, with a new name.
